Bilingual adaptive learning platform (English + Urdu) for a Pakistan-based international education company. Covers K-12 curriculum with AI-personalised lesson delivery, practice generation, parent dashboards, and teacher analytics.

The Challenge

The client was running a static curriculum platform where every student received identical content in an identical format. Students who struggled got more of the same thing that wasn't working. Dropout rates were high and parent satisfaction was low. They needed true personalisation — not just difficulty adjustment.

What We Built

A full adaptive learning platform with four components: the adaptive engine (adjusts both content and teaching method per student), an AI content generator (produces unlimited practice questions aligned to curriculum standards using GPT-4 with curriculum-specific fine-tuning), parent dashboards (weekly progress reports, weak area identification, study time analytics), and teacher tools (class-level analytics, at-risk student flagging, curriculum pacing recommendations).

The AI Layer

The adaptive engine is the core innovation. It tracks not just whether a student gets answers right or wrong, but the error pattern — whether mistakes are careless, conceptual, or procedural. For a conceptual misunderstanding, it switches teaching approach: from visual explanation to worked examples to Socratic questioning to analogy-based explanation, cycling through methods until comprehension is demonstrated across 3 consecutive correct responses to novel questions. This implements Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development as an algorithm. Practice questions are generated by GPT-4 with a curriculum-alignment layer that validates each question against the syllabus before delivery — ensuring no off-topic content reaches students.
